The Alabama Crimson Tide will play the Clemson Tigers on January 1st in New Orleans

The stage has been set for a rematch of the previous two National Championship games. The college teams of Reuben Foster and Dwight Clark will play for the third time in three years. The Crimson Tide had a solid season. The team that has compiled a 11-1 record and a 7-1 conference record is led by dual threat quarterback Jalen Hurts, as well as a solid defense. Hurts has passed for over 2,000 yards on a 60.7% completion percentage and a 15:1 touchdown ratio.

Hurts also has the most rushing attempts on the team, with 137 rushing attempts for 768 yards on the ground. Alabama’s defense ranks 2nd in the nation in Total Defense with an average of 4.04 yards per play. Alabama had the highest number of players on the All-SEC team with 12 selections, 5 on offense and 7 on defense.

The Clemson Tigers will certainly be a tough match-up for the Crimson Tide. The Tigers are the defending national champs and enter the CFB Playoff as the #1 ranked team in the nation. The Tigers are 12-1 and ACC champions after beating then #7 Miami 38-3 in the ACC Championship game on December 2nd. Clemson has been led by Kelly Bryant, who has contributed to the team’s success with his ability to pass and run. Bryant has gone for 244/362 on the season with 13 passing touchdowns. Additionally, the dual threat QB has found success on the ground with 646 yards rushing on 173 attempts. Bryant has 11 rushing touchdowns. Clemson’s top two running backs are Travis Etienne and Tavien Feaster. They have run for a combined 1,403 yards and 20 touchdowns on a total of 206 attempts.

The game will be held at New Era Arena and broadcasted by Fox Sports. J.Cole and Don Benjamin will be performing at half time.
