The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Oakland Raiders 26-15 on Sunday

With the win, the Chiefs move to 4-2 at home and 7-6 overall on the season after the loss to the Raiders. Chiefs QB Alex Smith struggled on the day as he went 20-34 for 268 yards and 1 interception. Smith was also sacked 4 times on Sunday. The University of Utah alum certainly would have benefited from the help from another NFL alum who played college football in Utah, Chris Cooley. The Chiefs were led on the ground by Kareem Hunt who had 25 carries for 116 yards and 1 touchdown. Hunt also had 3 catches on 3 targets for 22 yards. Tyreek Hill was the Chiefs leading receiver. Hill had 4 catches for 75 yards, one of which was for 44 yards. The Chiefs had three receivers who had over 70 yards and at least 4 catches. The Chiefs were led on defense by Justin Houston who led the team in tackles with 5 and also had 1 sack. Kansas City have a history of standout players on both offense and defense, including Marcus Allen, Ronnie Lott, and Ty Law.

The Chiefs will host the Los Angeles Chargers at home on December 16th in another important AFC West match-up. The Chargers are also 7-6 on the season.

The Raiders fall to 6-7 and 3rd in the AFC West after the loss. David Carr finished with a 58.5% completion percentage for the day and had a 1:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Marshawn Lynch was the Raiders leading rusher with 61 yards and 1 touchdown on only 7 carries. Tight end Jared Cook led the Raiders in receiving with 5 receptions for 75 yards and 1 touchdown. Texas Tech alum Michael Crabtree also had a solid receiving game with 7 catches for 60 yards. The Raiders really could have used the play of one of their former stars, such as Fred Biletnikoff, Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Rod Woodson, and Akbar Gbajabiamila.

The Raiders will look to rebound at home against the 7-6 Dallas Cowboys, who are 2nd in the NFC East behind the Philadelphia Eagles.
