The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Buffalo Bills 3-10 on January 7th

Buffalo Bills fans will hopefully not have to wait another 18 years for their team to make an appearance in the playoffs. While there were plenty of Bills fans at the game, the team was unable to even score a touchdown in the game. Tyrod Taylor started at quarterback for the Bills and had 134 yards passing on 17/37 passing attempts. Buffalo really could have used the play of Bills legend Doug Flutie in the game. Taylor also had 27 yards rushing. Nathan Peterman had to come in for 3 passes after Taylor left the game with an injury. LeSean McCoy was Buffalo’s leading rusher with 75 yards on 19 rushes. McCoy also was the Bills leading receiver with 44 yards receiving on 6 catches. Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander led the team in tackles with 10. Alexander also led the team in sacks with 1.

The Bills will now look to improve over the offseason and make the playoffs again next year. The Bills finished the regular season 9-7 and 2nd in the AFC North.

Jacksonville had Blake Bortles at quarterback and the UCF alum was less than impressive. Bortles had a 52% completion percentage and 87 yards passing. He had 1 passing touchdown and 88 yards rushing. Bortles also led the team in rushing yards. Leonard Fournette led the Jaguars in rushing attempts with 21. Dede Westbrook was Jacksonville’s leading receiver with 5 catches for 48 yards. Outside linebacker Telvin Smith led the team in tackles with 11.

The Jaguars finished the regular season 10-6 and 1st in the AFC South. The Jacksonville Jaguars will next play the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Divisional game on January 14th.
