A Movement Fueled By Culture

Ray Lewis

There will never be another Ray Lewis. The star linebacker played all his seventeen NFL seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and helped the team win the Super Bowl twice. The first of which, in 2000, he won the MVP award. After winning the Super Bowl at just 25 years old, Lewis would continue to accumulate 12 Pro Bowl nominations, two Defensive Player of the Year Awards, and a whopping 2,061 tackles over his legendary career. But one aspect of Ray Lewis’ career that separated him from everyone else was his ability to lead. He is famous for having the gift of always being able rally and excite his fellow Ravens teammates during the pre-game huddles. Now that he is retired from the NFL, Lewis went to work as an analyst for Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday NFL Countdown on ESPN. He is currently an analyst on Showtime’s Inside the NFL and guest analyst on Fox Sports. Lewis has also authoredI Feel Like Going On: Life, Game, and Glory, a personal memoir that became a New York Times bestseller. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
